First Impressions
Walking into Andaz 5th Avenue, By Hyatt feels like stepping into someone’s incredibly stylish apartment — if that someone happened to have impeccable taste and unlimited funds. The lobby doesn’t scream “hotel” at you, which I honestly appreciate after dealing with so many over-the-top marble palaces in New York. Instead, there’s this understated elegance that makes you feel like you belong there, even if you’re just rolling up with a wrinkled suitcase after a long flight.
The Location Sweet Spot
You know what’s brilliant about this place? It sits right on 5th Avenue, but somehow manages to feel like a local secret. I mean, you’re literally steps from the New York Public Library and Bryant Park — perfect for morning coffee runs or evening strolls when the crowds thin out. The couples who stay here aren’t wrong to rave about the location; there’s something romantic about being in the thick of Midtown without feeling overwhelmed by tourist chaos. Plus, having private parking in this part of Manhattan is basically like finding a unicorn.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this modern, almost residential feel that made me forget I was in a four-star hotel. The bed — and I’m pretty picky about beds — actually lived up to the hype everyone talks about. It’s one of those setups where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed whole. The windows are floor-to-ceiling, so you get these amazing city views that change throughout the day. Honestly, I spent way too much time just watching the street life below instead of exploring the city.
Breakfast and Daily Rhythms
The American breakfast here isn’t trying to be fancy, which works perfectly. They do classic dishes well — think proper eggs benedict and pancakes that don’t taste like they came from a mix. The restaurant space has this relaxed energy in the mornings, with plenty of natural light streaming in. I noticed quite a few repeat guests during my stay, and you can tell because they have this easy familiarity with the staff. There’s something comforting about seeing the same faces return to a place — it tells you they’re doing something right.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it balances being in the center of everything while still feeling like a retreat. You can walk to Times Square if you must, hit up the shops along 5th Avenue, or just disappear into Bryant Park with a book. The staff seems to understand that not every guest wants the same experience — some want restaurant recommendations, others just want to be left alone to enjoy their stay. After spending several nights here, I get why people keep coming back. It’s that rare New York hotel that doesn’t exhaust you just by existing in it.
To book pet allowed hotels near hiking trails, guests plan ahead for forest paths and dog-friendly shuttle routes.

The property location was perfect, and yhe staff members were so patients and helpful with me.
service was exceptional, they had water to give at the lobby with no extra fee. The lobby lounge was comfortable and the did serve coffee til 11 am and had wine after 5pm. It’snthese little additionals that will make guests come back.

The location was nice. Stayed Sat night until Sun. Was able to park right in front of the hotel since street parking on Sunday was able. The rooms were better than i thought. It's just that the bathroom was little too big for the room and too many doors for entering bathroom. No locks was bad. The showers were amazing but not having door kind of...
Louise
Fantastic room with views over the public library, empire state and Bryant park. We stayed as a family of 4 and had the best time in the 2-bedroom suite. The staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. We stayed for 1 week and could have stayed longer. Definitely recommend.
