Arlo NoMad
First Impressions
Walking into Arlo NoMad, you immediately get that this isn’t your typical Midtown tourist trap. The lobby has this sleek, modern vibe that feels more like a boutique hotel than a chain property — which, honestly, is exactly what you want when you’re staying in one of New York’s most dynamic neighborhoods. The four-star property sits right on East 31st Street, and I mean, you can’t ask for a better spot in NoMad. It’s that sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything but far enough from the Times Square chaos.
The NoMad Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re literally surrounded by some of the city’s best food and shopping, but it doesn’t feel overwhelming. The Flatiron Building is just a few blocks south, Madison Square Park is right there for your morning coffee runs, and you’ve got easy subway access without the constant tourist crowds. Couples seem to really get this (they rate the location 9.3, which honestly makes sense), but it works just as well if you’re traveling solo or with friends. The neighborhood has that perfect mix of business energy during the day and great nightlife after dark.
Room Experience
Now, I’ll be straight with you — the room sizes are what you’d expect from Manhattan, meaning they’re efficiently designed rather than sprawling. But here’s the thing: they’ve really nailed the comfort factor. The beds are genuinely excellent (and trust me, after walking around the city all day, you’ll appreciate that), and the design feels thoughtful rather than cramped. The windows actually give you decent views, and the whole space feels clean and contemporary. You know what surprised me? How quiet it stays at night, considering you’re right in the heart of everything.
Practical Perks
The American breakfast is solid — nothing fancy, but it gets the job done before you head out exploring. What’s actually pretty rare for this area is that they have private parking available, which is honestly a game-changer if you’re driving into the city (though let’s be real, most people aren’t). The staff knows the neighborhood well, so they’re good for restaurant recommendations beyond the usual tourist spots. I mean, when you’re staying somewhere with a 9.4 location score, you want people who can point you toward the hidden gems.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this hotel works because it gets the balance right. You’re not paying upscale prices, but you’re getting that boutique hotel experience in one of the city’s best neighborhoods. The location really is the star here — you can walk to the Empire State Building, catch a show in the Theater District, or just wander through Madison Square Park when you need a breather. Pet owners will appreciate that the area is actually pretty dog-friendly, with several nearby parks and a generally walkable vibe. It’s one of those places where you feel like you’re staying where locals would choose, not just where tourists end up.
Travelers who book pet friendly hotels juggle morning park walks with café terraces that welcome wagging tails.

Loved the Corner room with incredible views, the rooftop onlooking Empire State Building, the lobby scent is gorgeous ( so much so, I had to buy their diffusers from the shop) and the excellent showers.
Great location for midtown & Madison Square Garden. Excellent cocktails in their diner.

The location is amazing, so close to a couple of wonderful bars and highlights. Also the subway is closeby, which makes travelling through the city effourtless. The beds were super comfy!
