Aura Hotel Times Square Newly Renovated
First Impressions
Walking into Aura Hotel Times Square Newly Renovated feels like stepping into a completely different world from the chaos outside. I mean, you’re literally in the thick of Times Square madness on West 44th Street, but somehow this four-star hotel manages to create this calm, modern bubble. The lobby renovation really shows — everything feels fresh and thoughtfully designed, which honestly surprised me given how many Times Square hotels feel like they’re stuck in the 90s.
Location That Actually Works
Here’s the thing about staying right in Times Square — most people either love it or hate it, but this spot on 44th Street hits that sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything without being directly on the tourist circus that is Broadway. You can walk to pretty much any theater in under five minutes, and I’ve found that couples especially appreciate being able to stroll back to the hotel between dinner and a show. The subway access is ridiculously good too — you’ve got multiple lines within a block or two, which makes getting anywhere in New York actually manageable.
The Room Experience
The newly renovated rooms definitely deliver on their promise. My room had this clean, contemporary feel with enough space to actually move around — not always a given in Manhattan hotels. What I really appreciated were the thoughtful touches like proper lighting for getting ready and blackout curtains that actually work (trust me, this matters when you’re trying to sleep past sunrise in the city that never sleeps). The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, and honestly, the water pressure was better than I expected.
Pet-Friendly Perks
If you’re traveling with your furry friend, this place gets it right. The staff genuinely seems to enjoy having pets around rather than just tolerating them, which makes a huge difference in how comfortable you’ll feel. There’s nearby green space — Bryant Park is just a few blocks away and perfect for dog walks, plus Central Park isn’t far when your pup needs a real run. The hotel provides pet amenities without making a big production about it, and I noticed they keep treats at the front desk.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it balances location with livability. You get that prime Times Square address without feeling like you’re camping in a tourist trap. The renovation brought everything up to modern standards while keeping prices reasonable for the area. Plus, having private parking available in this part of Manhattan is almost unheard of — if you’re driving into the city, that alone might make your decision. The combination of genuinely friendly service, smart room design, and that unbeatable location creates something that works for both first-time visitors and people who know New York well enough to appreciate the details.

The location of this hotel was super - just off Times Sqaure so close enough to enjoy it but a little bit quieter than being on Times Square.
The room had a very comfortable bed and new pillows which were very comfortable.
Hussain
Excellent location, closed to the Times Square Center
Roy
The location is terrific for meetings in midtown as well as restaurants in the area, and the staff were helpful. The room decor was better and more modern than I expected (better than most hotels I've seen in New York.
Jill
The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. We also found the reception staff very helpful. And breakfast in the Long Room was great.

Location is very central if you want to visit Time SQ. Rooms are a bit small but considering the location it's fine. The decorations are modern and breakfast was nice at the Lounge Room next door.
Christopher
Amazing location right on Times Square but also quiet.
Pauline
Staff very welcoming. Lifts are quick - not much wait! Room was big, clean, comfortable. Bed very comfortable. Bathroom modern and spotless. For a NYC hotel it was just what I needed without any of the luxury extras. The bar next door served food.
Monika
Very clean and smelt nice. Great location - 2 blocks from Times Square . 2 double beds for a twin room which was very comfortable. Nice sheets and pillows and Molton Brown shower gel and shampoo/conditioner.
Natalie
