First Impressions
Walking into Citadines Connect Fifth Avenue New York, you immediately get that “okay, this works” feeling. It’s a three-star property that doesn’t try to be something it’s not — instead, it nails the essentials with a clean, modern vibe that feels refreshingly straightforward. The lobby has this efficient energy that matches the neighborhood perfectly, and honestly, after dealing with the chaos of Midtown Manhattan, that sense of calm organization is exactly what you need.
The Heart of Everything
You know what’s wild about this location? You’re literally steps from Times Square, but you’re on West 45th Street, which means you get all the access without feeling like you’re sleeping inside a tourist trap. I mean, Bryant Park is a quick walk, Grand Central is right there, and you can actually navigate the streets around here without getting swept up in the Broadway theater crowds. The couples who stay here absolutely love it — and I get why, because you can walk to dinner in any direction and find something great.
The Room Experience
The room setup is where this place really shows its smart side. These aren’t huge spaces — we’re talking New York realistic — but they’re designed with actual thought. You get a proper workspace (crucial if you’re mixing business with pleasure), decent storage that doesn’t require Tetris skills, and a bed that’s comfortable enough that you’ll actually sleep well. The kitchenette situation is particularly clever — it’s compact but functional, which means you can grab groceries and save some money instead of eating out for every single meal.
Breakfast and Practical Perks
The breakfast setup here is refreshingly honest — it’s continental style, nothing fancy, but they also do breakfast to-go bags which is actually genius when you’re trying to catch an early museum opening or beat the crowds somewhere. There’s parking available, though honestly, if you’re staying here you probably don’t need a car — the subway access is solid and walking gets you most places faster anyway. The whole operation feels like it’s run by people who understand how travelers actually behave, not how hotels think they should behave.
Why Guests Love It
What really sells this place is that location score — 9.5 out of 10 — and when you’re here, you understand why. You’re in the thick of everything without paying those crazy premium prices you’d get at the big-name hotels literally around the corner. The staff seems to get that most people staying here want efficiency and friendliness, not elaborate service theater. Plus, and this matters if you’re traveling with pets, the whole setup feels manageable for four-legged family members who might be overwhelmed by some of the more chaotic Midtown options. It’s that sweet spot where you get the New York experience without all the unnecessary complications.
Travelers who book pet friendly hotels juggle morning park walks with café terraces that welcome wagging tails.

It has very good location, comfortable and the staff was so kind.
Eri
Location was great, in the middle of 5th Street. Breakfast included was really helpful. We read about the breakfast in the reviews, but it wasn’t bad at all as a quick bite - different types of pastries, fruits, orange juice, and decent coffee. The communal space is very small so it depends on the timing if you get a seat, though.

Great location

The room was proper but too small for 4people

Location is great.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is enough to sober up before starting the day.
Small, clean, secure and cozy hotel.

Excellent location, convenient. Staff are helpful and breakfast arrangement suits the purpose of my visit. I have noticed the small improvements to the bathroom and air-conditioner since my last visit in 2023.

I picked this hotel for location, price, coffee availability in the room, & breakfast.
I thought the staff for the most part was very pleasent and helpful.

The staff were friendly and my room was very clean. It looked newly renovated. Even though it is located in busy midtown, my room was quiet and there was a light blocking shade to keep it dark at night. The location is great if you want to do the usual things in the city. I was in town visiting family in the New York Presbyterian hospital and it...

Room was very clean, which is the most important thing. Lobby was okay with cleanliness , but not super clean like the room (which I can live with).

Location good, near Time Square about 8 mins walk, near some restaurants.
