First Impressions
Walking into Four Points by Sheraton Midtown – Times Square, you immediately get that “this is actually doable” feeling — you know, when a four-star hotel manages to feel both polished and approachable without trying too hard. The lobby has that crisp Sheraton vibe, but honestly, what struck me most was how the staff seemed genuinely happy to see guests with pets. I mean, in New York that’s not always a given, even at places that claim to be pet-friendly.
Location That Actually Works
Here’s the thing about Hell’s Kitchen — it’s become this perfect sweet spot where you’re close enough to Times Square chaos but far enough away to actually sleep at night. The hotel sits on West 40th Street, and I’ve got to say, it’s one of those addresses that just works. You can walk to Broadway shows without the tourist crush right outside your door, plus there are some genuinely good local spots nearby that most visitors never discover. The subway access is solid too, which matters when you’re hauling pet supplies around the city.
The Room Experience
The room itself delivered on what I’d call “comfortable efficiency” — everything you need without unnecessary frills. Those beds really are as comfortable as people say, and after walking around Manhattan all day with a dog, that matters more than you’d think. The windows actually open (rare for midtown hotels), and there’s enough floor space for pet bowls and a travel bed without feeling cramped. The bathroom’s compact but well-designed, and honestly, the water pressure was better than I expected for a building this age.
Pet-Friendly Reality Check
What I appreciated most was how naturally the pet policy works here — no awkward conversations or surprise fees that some hotels spring on you. The staff clearly deals with four-legged guests regularly, and there’s nearby green space that’s actually accessible without a major expedition. Riverside Park isn’t too far if you need a proper dog run, but for quick walks, the neighborhood streets work fine. The housekeeping team was also cool about working around pet schedules, which shows they actually understand how this stuff works in practice.
Why Guests Love It
The breakfast setup deserves a mention — they’ve got this buffet situation that covers pretty much every dietary need you can think of, including grab-and-go options that are perfect when you need to get your pet outside for morning business. But really, what makes this place work is how it balances that Sheraton reliability with the reality of staying in Manhattan with pets. You’re not paying upscale prices for amenities you won’t use, but you’re also not sacrificing comfort or location. It’s that rare New York hotel where both you and your pet can actually relax, and in this city, that’s worth quite a bit.
