First Impressions
Walking into the Hampton Inn Manhattan-35th St Empire State Bldg, you immediately get that “this is exactly where I need to be” feeling. I mean, you’re literally a stone’s throw from the Empire State Building — and honestly, the location alone makes this three-star hotel punch way above its weight. The lobby has that clean, modern Hampton Inn vibe without feeling sterile, and the staff actually seems happy to see you, which isn’t always a given in New York. The neighborhood offers easy access to some of the city’s most iconic attractions and vibrant street life.
The Midtown Sweet Spot
Here’s what I love about this spot on 35th Street — you’re in the thick of everything without the Times Square chaos. Penn Station is just a few blocks away (perfect if you’re coming in by train), and you can walk to Herald Square, Macy’s, and basically anywhere in Midtown without breaking a sweat. The couples rating of 9.5 for location makes total sense because you’re close enough to Broadway shows, great restaurants, and all the tourist stuff, but you can actually get some peace when you want it. The surrounding area provides excellent walkability and convenient access to public transportation options.
The Room Experience
The room itself is what you’d expect from Hampton Inn — clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet for being right in Manhattan. Those beds they’re known for? Yeah, they really are as comfy as advertised, and after walking around the city all day, that matters more than you might think. The rooms aren’t huge (this is New York, after all), but they’re smartly designed with enough space for your stuff and a decent work area if you need it. Each room is equipped with modern amenities and thoughtful touches that enhance your stay.
Morning Fuel
The breakfast situation is actually pretty solid — they do a buffet that covers all the basics and then some. You know what’s nice? You can grab coffee and pastries early if you’re trying to beat the crowds at popular attractions, or sit down for a proper meal if you’re taking your time. It’s not fancy, but it’s filling and gets you ready for whatever New York throws at you that day. The dining area provides a welcoming atmosphere to start your morning before exploring the city.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t a boutique hotel with Instagram-worthy lobbies, but it delivers exactly what most travelers actually need. The location score of 9.6 isn’t just numbers — it reflects how easy this place makes exploring the city. You’re paying for a solid, reliable stay in one of the best neighborhoods in Manhattan, and the Hampton Inn brand means you know what you’re getting. For pet owners, you’ll want to check their current pet policy since it can vary, but the location makes dog walks pretty manageable with nearby streets and small parks within walking distance. This upscale choice offers excellent value for discerning travelers seeking quality accommodations in a prime location.

Breakfast menu was good enough.

Great location for tourism in the city, especially for a few days or first time visit. Breakfast was with eggs, breads, fruits, coffee juice, very complete. Not best quality but very complete. Double room with 2 double beds is very comfortable and everything clean. Water and hot drinks available the whole day.

NY don’t know how to be quiet hah. But facing the back was better as per the front desk suggestion. Didn’t have trouble hearing the neighbor or other rooms slamming the doors.
