Hotel Belleclaire Central Park
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Belleclaire Central Park on Broadway, you immediately get that classic New York vibe — it’s one of those pre-war buildings that actually has character, not just another glass tower. The four-star property sits right in the heart of the Upper West Side, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. You’re literally steps from Central Park, which I mean, that’s pretty much the dream for most visitors to the city.
Location Magic
Here’s what I love about this spot — you get the best of both worlds. Central Park is right across the street (and couples seem to absolutely adore this, rating the location 9.4), but you’re also surrounded by that authentic Upper West Side neighborhood feel. The subway stations are close enough that you won’t be dragging your luggage for blocks, and there’s this great mix of local cafes and shops that tourists usually miss when they stay in Midtown. You know what’s nice? You can actually walk to Lincoln Center in about ten minutes, which is something the concierge might not even mention.
The Room Experience
The rooms here feel like what a New York hotel room should be — not huge, but thoughtfully designed with enough space to actually unpack and settle in. What struck me was how they’ve managed to keep some of the building’s original charm while updating everything that actually matters. The windows are decent-sized for Manhattan standards, and if you’re lucky enough to get a park-facing room, well, that view is something else entirely. Pet owners will appreciate that the staff genuinely seems to welcome furry guests rather than just tolerating them.
Practical Perks
One thing that’s actually pretty smart — they offer breakfast to go, which honestly makes more sense than a formal dining room when you’re in a city where you want to be out exploring. There’s something refreshing about grabbing your coffee and pastry and heading straight to Central Park or catching an early train downtown. The whole operation feels efficient without being impersonal, if that makes sense. Parking is available too, though like anywhere in Manhattan, you’ll pay for the privilege.
Why Guests Love It
Look, there are fancier hotels in the city, but this place gets something right that a lot of them miss — it feels like you’re staying in New York, not just visiting it. The Upper West Side location means you’re living like a local for a few days, walking past the same dog runs and corner markets that residents use. For pet-friendly accommodations, it’s genuinely welcoming rather than grudgingly accepting, which makes a huge difference when you’re traveling with your four-legged family member. The 8.1 rating reflects what you’d expect — solid, reliable, and in an absolutely killer location that couples especially seem to fall for.
Pet friendly hotels line waterfront promenades, mountain villages, and city squares with water bowls at every corner.

Location is in the Upper West Side which is quite frankly an understated area of Manhattan. The room was small but functional, great layout and sufficient amenities. Bathroom design was simple and effective. Towels changed daily. TV functions perfect. Low noise AC is a huge plus.

Please read my comment carefully. In Europe, when a hotel says 'Breakfast included in the price,' it means you go to the restaurant in the morning and have breakfast. Here in the US, it's always a surprise, often misleading. The Booking portal shouldn't say breakfast is included when it's not!
Andrew
The location is very good, close to everything but still nice and quiet. The room was quite spacious and it had a large bathroom. The breakfast next door had a good choice and the vouchers were great.
Cynthia
The location was convenient to the subway and Central Park. I appreciated the breakfast vouchers that we could use at the cafe or restaurant.
