First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Indigo NYC Financial District, an IHG Hotel feels like discovering a well-kept secret in one of Manhattan’s most historic neighborhoods. This three-star property sits right on Trinity Place, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering — especially if you’re traveling with your furry companion. The lobby has this boutique vibe that’s polished without being stuffy, and I immediately noticed how welcoming the staff was when I mentioned I’d be bringing my dog on future visits.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s great about staying in the Financial District? It’s actually quieter than you’d expect, especially on weekends when the business crowd clears out. The hotel is literally steps from Trinity Church and Wall Street, but more importantly for pet owners, you’re close to some fantastic walking spots. Stone Street’s cobblestones make for interesting sniffing territory for dogs, and Battery Park — with its waterfront paths and green spaces — is just a short walk away. I mean, where else can your dog potentially spot the Statue of Liberty during their morning constitutional?
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this modern, clean aesthetic with pops of color that reflect the neighborhood’s character — think deep blues and warm golds that somehow capture both the financial district’s energy and the nearby harbor. What impressed me most was the attention to detail: good lighting for actually reading, plenty of outlets (thank goodness), and windows that actually open if you want some fresh air. The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with the pillows all night, which honestly happens more often than I’d like to admit in New York hotels.
Pet-Friendly Perks
Here’s where this place really shines for pet travelers — the staff genuinely seems to get it. They don’t just tolerate pets; they actually welcome them with amenities that show they’ve thought this through. The front desk can point you toward the best nearby dog runs, and they’re pretty knowledgeable about pet-friendly dining options in the area. There’s also decent parking nearby if you’re driving in with pets, though I’d honestly recommend taking the subway or a cab — it’s just easier in this part of town.
Why Guests Love It
The combination of location and genuine hospitality keeps people coming back, and I can see why couples rate this spot so highly for romantic getaways. But beyond that, it’s the little things — like how the concierge actually knows the neighborhood instead of just handing you a generic tourist map, or how the housekeeping staff pays attention to details without being intrusive. For pet owners specifically, this feels like one of those places where you won’t spend your whole stay worrying about whether you and your four-legged friend are truly welcome. The Financial District location means you’re close to great walking routes, good transportation, and honestly, some of the most interesting architecture in the city — which makes for pretty decent Instagram shots of you and your pup, if that’s your thing.
Pet allowed hotels blend cozy lobbies, fenced garden spaces, and staff who remember your dog’s name by checkout.

Breakfast was good and it was nice to have full service in the hotel. The staff through out were friendly and accommodating. Not one thing was there to complain about at this hotel. It would be my hotel of choice. Location was great and easy to access the entire city.

The property was pretty close to everything and it had a restaurant attached that’s has an happy hour for 12-7pm everyday! It was pretty nice. You may feel the subway a little bit too.

The hotel lobby’s restaurant was such a vibe. I didn’t get the chance to go but whenever I would walk pass to go to the elevators I would be dancing my way there. The ambience overall of the hotel was peaceful and friendly. The night staff 10/10. Thank you guys.
