Hyatt Place New York Chelsea
First Impressions
Walking into Hyatt Place New York Chelsea, you immediately get that modern business hotel vibe — but in the best way possible. The lobby’s sleek and uncluttered, which honestly feels like a breath of fresh air after navigating the bustling streets of New York. What struck me right away was how pet-friendly the staff seemed; I watched them greet a golden retriever like he was checking in for a business meeting, complete with treats at the front desk.
The Chelsea Advantage
Here’s the thing about staying in Chelsea — you’re basically in the sweet spot of Manhattan. This four-star hotel sits on West 24th Street, and I mean, you can walk to the High Line in about five minutes, Madison Square Garden is practically next door, and the Flatiron District is right there. The couples who stay here absolutely love it (apparently they rate the location 9.3 out of 10), and I get why. You’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from Times Square to actually sleep at night.
Room Experience
The room itself is what you’d expect from Hyatt Place — clean, functional, and surprisingly spacious for New York standards. The bed’s comfortable, and there’s actually enough space for your dog to stretch out without taking over the entire floor. I appreciated the large windows that let in decent light, and the work area is legit if you need to get stuff done. The pet policy here is straightforward too — they welcome dogs up to 50 pounds for a reasonable fee, and honestly, the staff seems genuinely happy to see four-legged guests.
Breakfast and Amenities
The breakfast situation is actually pretty solid — they do both buffet style and grab-and-go options, which is perfect when you’re trying to get an early start exploring the city with your pet. The 24/7 Gallery Market downstairs is clutch for late-night snacks or if you forgot to pack something for your dog. There’s also a fitness center that’s open around the clock, though let’s be real, you’ll probably get your workout just walking around Chelsea with your pup.
Why Pet Owners Love It
What really sets this place apart for pet travelers is the combination of location and attitude. The nearby Chelsea Market is dog-friendly, there are several great dog runs within walking distance, and the neighborhood itself is pretty pet-welcoming. The hotel staff doesn’t make you feel like you’re inconveniencing them by bringing your dog — they actually seem to enjoy the furry guests. Plus, with that 9.2 location score, you’re not just getting a place to crash; you’re getting access to one of the best neighborhoods in the city. The parking situation isn’t cheap (this is Manhattan, after all), but there are options nearby if you’re driving in with pets.

Maria
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms, albeit a bit small, are comfortable and the extra large bed is excellent. Our view from the 36th floor was stunning. It's a great base to visit Manhattan, we really enjoyed the strategic location in Chelsea, close to the subway and with many landmarks at a walkable distance.

Amazing view downtown from our room on 33rd floor. No issue with lift as others have described.. we never waited more than 2 mins. Comfy bed. Lots of choice for breakfast. Friendly staff.

The hotel is located in a great neighborhood. It was easy to take the subway or taxis, or even walk to Flatiron and other nearby areas. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast offered a variety of options.
