First Impressions
Walking into ibis Paris Avenue d’Italie 13ème, you immediately get that reliable ibis vibe — clean, modern, and refreshingly straightforward. It’s a three-star property that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, which honestly feels pretty refreshing in a city where hotels can get a bit pretentious. The lobby has that contemporary European design with pops of color, and the staff actually seems genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about the 13th arrondissement — it’s become one of Paris’s best-kept secrets, and this hotel sits right in the sweet spot. You’re on Avenue d’Italie, which means you’ve got excellent metro connections (Place d’Italie station is practically next door), but you’re also in this increasingly trendy area that locals are really embracing. The Butte-aux-Cailles neighborhood is just a short walk away, and trust me, that’s where you’ll find some of the city’s most authentic bistros and wine bars. Couples seem to really get this — they consistently rate the location around 8.9, which makes total sense when you experience it yourself.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from ibis — compact but smartly designed, with everything you actually need and nothing you don’t. The bed was surprisingly comfortable (they’ve really upgraded their mattresses in recent years), and the bathroom, while small, had good water pressure and modern fixtures. What I appreciated most was the soundproofing — Avenue d’Italie can get busy, but you wouldn’t know it once you’re inside. The air conditioning works well too, which isn’t always a given in Paris hotels.
Practical Perks
The breakfast setup here is actually pretty solid — they do continental and buffet options, plus they offer breakfast to go if you’re rushing to catch an early train or flight. I mean, it’s not going to blow your mind, but the coffee is decent and there’s enough variety to keep you happy. The parking situation is worth mentioning too — having private parking in Paris is honestly a game-changer if you’re driving, and it’s right at the hotel rather than some sketchy garage three blocks away.
Why Guests Love It
You know what really stands out? The repeat guest rate here is unusually high, and after staying here, I totally get why. It’s that sweet spot of being reliable without being boring, well-located without the tourist trap pricing, and professionally run without feeling corporate. The 13th arrondissement gives you that authentic Paris experience — you’ll see more locals than tourists on the streets, the restaurant recommendations from the front desk are actually good, and you can walk to major attractions or hop on the metro and be anywhere in the city within 20 minutes. For the price point, it’s honestly hard to beat.
Families seeking hotels that allow pets appreciate roomy balconies, nearby vet clinics, and concierges who stock treat jars.

We really liked the hotel, was clean and had everything we needed!! The staff was very polite and always willing to help at any time. Found really good that you could always find someone at the reception!! The location was really good!!! Near two different metro stations!!! Would absolutely recommend it and we would definitely choose it again in...

Excellent location.
We can't say much about it. When we arrive, an entire floor had some problem and they had to realocate us on other IBIS, 15 minutes away from this one. But what we saw we like it. In the reception the employee was very polite. The rest we cant say much more because we went to the other IBIS
