First Impressions
Walking up to The Beekman Tower, Trademark Collection by Wyndham on Mitchell Place, you immediately notice this isn’t your typical Manhattan hotel. The building has this classic New York residential feel — honestly, it looks more like an upscale apartment building than a hotel, which actually works in its favor. The lobby is understated but welcoming, and the staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing. What struck me right away was how quiet it felt despite being in the heart of New York, and yes, they’re completely pet-friendly, which is honestly a relief in this city.
The Midtown East Advantage
The location is where this four-star property really shines — I mean, couples rate it 9.0 for good reason. You’re tucked away on a quieter street but still walking distance to everything that matters. The UN headquarters is literally around the corner, Grand Central is a pleasant ten-minute walk, and you can easily reach Central Park without dealing with the chaos of Times Square. For pet owners, there’s a small park nearby on Beekman Place that’s perfect for dog walks, plus the East River Esplanade is close enough for longer strolls.
The Room Experience
The rooms here feel more like temporary apartments than hotel accommodations, which makes sense given the building’s residential vibe. Each room has a kitchenette setup — not fancy, but functional enough if you want to store pet food or grab a quick breakfast without heading downstairs. The windows are surprisingly large for Manhattan, and if you’re lucky enough to get a higher floor, you’ll catch glimpses of the East River. The pet policy is straightforward too — they welcome dogs and cats without the usual runaround you get at other places.
Dining and Daily Life
There isn’t a full-service restaurant on-site, but honestly, that’s not why you stay here. The neighborhood has incredible dining options within a few blocks — everything from casual spots to serious fine dining. What I appreciated was having that kitchenette to handle simple meals, especially when traveling with pets who might need their regular feeding schedule. The nearby Whole Foods on East 57th is a lifesaver for both human and pet supplies, and the hotel staff actually knows the area well enough to give solid recommendations.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. You’re getting a solid, well-located base in one of Manhattan’s more civilized neighborhoods, with staff who understand that pet travelers have different needs. The building’s residential character means less foot traffic and noise — your dog won’t be constantly on edge from lobby commotion. Parking is available nearby (though pricey, as expected), and the whole setup just feels more relaxed than the typical Midtown hotel experience. It’s not flashy, but it’s genuinely comfortable, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need in New York.

It was very reasonable price, hot water around the clock, good size kitchen for cooking, working facilities. We loved our stay here but maybe a little too far out so we had to walk back to appartment after a long day walking

Check in was real fast. Friendly front desk staff. A minor issue during check in was solved by a phone call to my room five minutes later. No check out required. Location couldn´t be better. Two bus stops just around the corner, literally. Large supermarket open 24 hours one block away. Street noise is soundproofed out. Three elevators avoid you...

Excellent location for exploring Midtown by foot. Nice local coffee shops and pubs. The accommodation was clean and well equipped. For heath reasons we needed to be able to self cater, which is why we chose this accommodation. Basic but serviceable kitchen. Free use of washer/dryer in basement. Helpful staff. We would stay again.
