The Gregorian New York City
First Impressions
Walking into The Gregorian New York City, you immediately get that boutique hotel vibe — it’s polished without being stuffy, which honestly feels perfect for this part of New York. The lobby has this warm, sophisticated atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve found something special, even though you’re right in the thick of Midtown. I mean, you’re literally steps from the Empire State Building, but somehow this four-star gem manages to feel like a peaceful retreat from all that tourist chaos outside.
The Perfect Midtown Spot
Here’s what I love about the location — you’re on West 35th Street, which puts you in this sweet spot where you can walk to basically everything without dealing with the Times Square madness. Penn Station is just a few blocks away (super handy if you’re coming in by train), and you’ve got Herald Square right there for shopping. The couples who stay here absolutely rave about the area, and I get it — there’s something romantic about being able to stroll to Bryant Park or catch a Broadway show without needing to figure out the subway every time.
Sleep Quality That Actually Delivers
You know what’s rare in New York hotels? Actually getting a good night’s sleep. But The Gregorian has figured this out — their beds are seriously comfortable, and guests consistently mention waking up refreshed instead of feeling like they got hit by a truck. The room design is smart too, with blackout curtains that actually work (trust me, this matters when you’re dealing with city lights) and surprisingly good soundproofing for Midtown. The spaces feel modern and thoughtfully laid out, not cramped like so many NYC hotels.
Pet-Friendly Perks
If you’re traveling with your furry friend, this place gets it right. They welcome pets without making you feel like you’re asking for a huge favor, and the staff actually seems to enjoy having four-legged guests around. The location works perfectly for dog walks too — you’ve got plenty of sidewalk space and Bryant Park is close enough for a proper morning run. Plus, having that grab-and-go breakfast option means you can fuel up quickly and get your pup outside for their morning routine without any stress.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets The Gregorian apart is how it balances that boutique hotel charm with genuine practicality. The breakfast-to-go situation might sound simple, but it’s actually brilliant when you’re trying to maximize your time in the city — grab your coffee and pastry, then head out to explore instead of sitting in a crowded hotel restaurant. The location score speaks for itself (seriously, 9.4 out of 10), and after staying here, I understand why. You’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the tourist traps that you can actually breathe. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re experiencing the real New York, not just visiting it.

Excellent room and location, staff very friendly and willing to help. Don’t worry about the noise, yes it’s single pain glass but you’re in NYC. We were on the second floor and our 3 year old managed to sleep!
Will return for sure! Easy walking distance to Penn Station.

The prime location meant we could walk to most places. The bedroom itself was very spacious and airy with big windows and lots of light. Black out drapes worked well and the air con was great. The bed was super comfy. Lovely big walk in closet with, ironing board, and a safe. Big fridge and bottled water provided on daily basis. The water pressure...
