Truss Hotel Times Square
First Impressions
Walking into Truss Hotel Times Square, you immediately notice how they’ve managed to create something that feels both modern and welcoming in the middle of Manhattan’s chaos. The lobby has this clean, industrial-chic vibe that works really well — sort of like a sophisticated warehouse conversion, but warmer. What struck me right away was how the staff genuinely seemed to care about making sure guests (and their pets) felt comfortable from the moment they arrived.
Location That Actually Makes Sense
Here’s the thing about this hotel’s spot in Hudson Yards — it’s perfectly positioned between the madness of Times Square and the newer, more polished area around the Vessel and Hudson River Park. You’re literally a few blocks from Penn Station, which honestly makes getting here from the airports so much easier than dealing with some of the Midtown hotels. I mean, couples are rating the location 9.1 out of 10, and after staying here, I totally get why. You can walk to Broadway shows, but you’re also close enough to the High Line that your dog will have some decent green space options nearby.
The Room Experience
The room design is what I’d call “smart small-space living” — they’ve maximized every inch without making it feel cramped. The windows are surprisingly large for New York, and if you’re lucky enough to get one facing west, the Hudson River views are actually pretty spectacular. What I appreciated most was the thoughtful pet amenities — they don’t just tolerate your furry friend, they actually provide bowls, treats, and even a little welcome mat. The beds are comfortable (firm but not rock-hard), and there’s enough space for a medium-sized dog to stretch out comfortably.
Dining and Neighborhood Eats
The hotel’s restaurant serves solid American fare — nothing groundbreaking, but the breakfast is reliable and they’re surprisingly accommodating about dietary restrictions. Honestly though, what makes this location great is the food scene around Hudson Yards. You’ve got everything from food trucks along 9th Avenue to some really excellent Korean BBQ spots just a few blocks south. For dog owners, there are several cafes with outdoor seating where your pet can join you, which you know is always a win in a city like this.
Why Guests Love It
This four-star hotel hits that sweet spot where you’re getting genuine value without paying those insane Manhattan premium prices. The parking situation is actually manageable (rare for the area), and the pet policy is refreshingly straightforward — no hidden fees or ridiculous restrictions. What really sets it apart is how the staff treats both you and your pet like actual guests rather than just tolerating the arrangement. Plus, being this close to multiple subway lines means you can explore the whole city without feeling like you’re stuck in the tourist bubble of Times Square proper.
Pet allowed hotels blend cozy lobbies, fenced garden spaces, and staff who remember your dog’s name by checkout.

Truss Hotel is 5 minutes walk from Time Sq. It's spotlessly clean and the staff are so friendly and polite. Jessie at reception is competent, charming and so helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are big and the beds very comfortable. The complimentary toiletries are welcome too.

The location was convenient. A short walk to Times Square and the convention center at Hudson Yards. Loads of places nearby for food. The staff were excellent, friendly and accessible. The person at check-in even took the initiative to move our groups’ rooms when she realised we were a group so that we would all be together/close by on the same...
