First Impressions
Walking into Mint House at 70 Pine honestly feels like stepping into someone’s incredibly stylish apartment rather than a typical hotel. This four-star property sits right in the heart of the Financial District, and I mean right in the thick of things — you’re literally surrounded by the energy of lower Manhattan. The building itself has this gorgeous Art Deco vibe that immediately catches your eye, and the lobby strikes that perfect balance between sophisticated and welcoming. The attention to detail throughout the property reflects a commitment to refined hospitality.
The Neighborhood
You know what’s great about staying in the Financial District? Most tourists skip it entirely, which means you get to experience New York like an actual resident. Stone Street’s cobblestones and historic pubs are just a few blocks away, and honestly, the walk to Brooklyn Bridge is so much shorter than you’d expect. The subway connections here are fantastic too — you can reach Midtown in about 15 minutes, but when you come back at night, it’s refreshingly quiet compared to the chaos uptown. This neighborhood offers an authentic urban experience that many visitors never discover.
The Apartment Experience
Here’s where things get interesting — each room is actually set up like a proper apartment, complete with a full kitchen that’s genuinely functional. I’m talking real appliances, not those tiny hotel fridges that barely fit a water bottle. The beds are seriously comfortable (and I’m pretty picky about mattresses), which explains why this place gets such high ratings for sleep quality. The design feels modern but warm, with floor-to-ceiling windows that flood everything with natural light during the day. This thoughtful layout transforms the typical hotel stay into something far more personal and comfortable.
Pet-Friendly Perks
If you’re traveling with your furry friend, this place actually gets it right. The staff genuinely seems to enjoy having pets around rather than just tolerating them, and the apartment-style setup means your dog or cat has real space to spread out. There’s no cramped hotel room situation here. Plus, being in the Financial District means you’re close to some great dog-walking spots — the waterfront areas along the East River are perfect for morning walks, and your pet will love exploring the quieter streets on weekends. Pet owners consistently praise the welcoming atmosphere and spacious accommodations.
Why Guests Love It
The location consistently gets rave reviews, especially from couples who appreciate having their own space while still being in the center of everything. You can grab groceries and actually cook a meal if you want to save money or just feel more at home, but you’re also walking distance to incredible restaurants when you don’t. The building’s history adds character that you won’t find in newer hotels, and the service feels personal without being intrusive. It’s one of those places where you can easily imagine extending your stay because it doesn’t feel like you’re living out of a suitcase. The combination of upscale amenities and genuine hospitality makes this property stand out among Financial District accommodations.

It was a very pleasant stay in a great Art Deco skyscraper with two Michelin starred restaurants located in the building and one fantastic "roof top bar" on the top floor of the building (which to this day is the 26th tallest skyscraper in Manhattan). The location is also great, right next to Wall Street with the subway station entrance located...

Wonderful hotel! The studio apartment was really spacious, the kitchen was fully equipped and really comfortable to use, and the bed was great and super comfortable. The gym was also great, the biggest and most equipped gym I’ve seen in the city.
